“Established in 1972, Vets For Vets is a student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison whose purpose is identifying the needs of and providing support for students with military experience including active duty veterans, reservists and National Guard members. Along with offering a variety of brochures and a regular newsletter, V4V employs a veteran-benefit specialist to advise and advocate for student veterans. Vets For Vets is a non-partisan, non-political service organization funded in part by Associated Students of Madison. In the years since its inception, V4V has helped student veterans collect an estimated $10 million in benefits that would have otherwise been overlooked and unused.”
